Florence "Molly" Thompson

Molly passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home at the age of 96.

Florence Radebaugh was born on September 25, 1915, the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Dally) Radebaugh near Grandin, ND. She grew up in this area and graduated from Bohnsack High School. Molly was united in marriage to Morris Thompson on June 1, 1935, in Moorhead, MN. Together they made their home and farmed near Hillsboro in Bohnsack and Kelso Townships for many years. Molly and Morris moved to Hillsboro in 1972 and retired from farming in 1976. They enjoyed spending their winter months vacationing in Florida and later in Arizona.

Throughout her life, Molly had a great love and talent for music. In their earlier years, Morris and Molly had a band and played at many area dances. Molly was active in the Kelso Homemakers Club, the Eastern Star, served as a Rainbow Mother Advisor, and was part of the Kelso Birthday Club. Molly was a longtime, dedicated member of the Hillsboro United Parish UCC-UMC, where she served as organist, choir director, and member of the ladies aide and church circle. Later in life, Molly could be found at the Hillsboro Golf Course where she played golf, bridge, and visited with her many friends. Molly enjoyed life.....

Morris passed away on October 21, 2000, and Molly soon after made her home at the Kelleher Manor. In February of 2008 she moved to the Hillsboro Nursing Home.

Molly is survived by her sons, Larry (Sharon) Thompson of Hillsboro; Lowell (Carmen) Thompson of Bloomington, IL; her grandchildren - Michael (Dawn) Thompson, Scott (Kathy) Thompson, Wendy (Timothy) Hines, Laurie (Gregory) Merriman, and Michelle (Monty) Peerbhai; 11 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Eunice Rogers of Detroit Lakes, MN; and her sister-in-law, Vivian Thompson, Ardis Praefke and Lillian Radebaugh. Molly was preceded in death by her siblings - Greer, Mildred, Arnold, Irene, Doris, and Dale.
