Florence V. Wegge

Florence Viola (Bjorge) Wegge died on June 20, 2023 from diabetes complications. She was born on July 29, 1924 to Albert Bjorge and Karine (Arneson) Bjorge.

Florence was baptized and confirmed in the Ringsaker Lutheran Church in rural Buxton, ND. She attended a rural school called Belmont #5 of Buxton, ND and graduated 8th grade there; then graduated from Climax High School in 1942. After High School, she worked in an aircraft plant in Burbank, CA for two years as a “Rosie Riveter”.

She married Roy Wegge at the Alameda Air Base in California in 1944. In 1946, they moved back to North Dakota where they raised their family of four, Deborah (Rick) Roesler, Deane (Eileen Kistler) Wegge, Karen Wegge, and Mark (Sandra McGinty) Wegge.
Florence was active in the Walcott Lutheran church, West Prairie Lutheran church (rural Kindred) and the New Hope Lutheran Church of Leonard. She also was active in 4-H, Leonard town board, and Homemaker club. Her hobbies were baking, knitting, embroidery, and yard work especially her flower gardens and playing cards.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; brother, Ardell Bjorge; sisters Alvina Williams and Kathleen Seaburg.

Florence is survived by her children; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers are her grandchildren: Darin Roesler, Kristin Sheldon, Matt Wegge and Ross Wegge, Kaitlin Kalb, and Dana Wegge; and great grandchildren, Devin and Hannah Roesler, Elise and Olivia Wegge, and Tanner and Dylan Wegge.
Florence loved her family and enjoyed partaking in their activities whenever she could.

A visitation will take place from 5:00-6:30 PM followed by a prayer service at 6:30 PM Friday July 14, 2023 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM Saturday July 15, 2023 at New Hope Lutheran Church, Leonard, ND. Visitation will take place one hour prior.
