Floyd Victor Jostad was born October 9, 1939 near Kindred, North Dakota, to Toby and Mildred Jostad.  He grew up and attended school in Kindred and Business College in Bismarck, ND. He married Linda Walls in 1963 and they made their home in West Fargo and later the Kindred area.  They had three children.  She preceded him in death in 1991.  He retired from Cass Clay Creamery in 2001.

He loved to be outside with his dogs and working on his tractor, he enjoyed spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren.  He enjoyed the outdoors fishing, and walking with his dogs.

He is survived by daughter, Melissa (Steve Tate); son, Steve Jostad; sister, Marlyne Skramstad; brother, Lyle Jostad; grandchildren, Allison Tate and Josh Tate, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Orville; son, David Floyd Jostad.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

    We both enjoyed Floyd when he took his walks with his faithful dog. He had his walking stick and a great big wave for us when ever we passed and several times we had the chance to do a roadside vist. We will miss seeing him.
