Frances Bercier

Frances A. Bercier, 91, peacefully passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Eventide Lutheran Home surrounded by family.
Frances was born on March 10, 1928 in Rolla, ND to William Robert and Margaret (Martin) Schindler. She attended 12 years of schooling at Turtle Mountain Community School in Belcourt, ND. Frances was joined in marriage to Bert Bercier on August 1, 1947 in Portland, Oregon at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Frances was a homemaker and retired Dorm supervisor from the Wahpeton Indian School in Wahpeton, ND. Frances and Bert raised five children together.
Frances enjoyed many things in life. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren when she wasn’t quilting, baking her much loved caramel rolls, or playing Beat the Devil (solitaire). She was a kind, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Blessed to have shared in Frances’ life are her three sons, Byron (Debbie) Bercier, White Bear Lake, MN; Gary (Brenda) Bercier, Chaska, MN; and Gerard (Kathy) Bercier, Jamestown, ND; her two daughters, Rennae (Rainer) Lobitz, Audubon,MN; and Tracy (Rick) Batsch, Fargo, ND; her siblings, Edward (Janice) Schindler, Minneapolis, MN; Duane (Delores) Schindler, Vancouver, WA; Wesley Schindler, Rolla, ND; and Diane Lachapelle, Bismarck, ND; and twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband Bert Bercier; her parents William and Margaret Schindler; her siblings Fred Schindler, Sr., Ernastine Jeanotte, Edna Cain, Viola Eller, Arvella Pays, Robert Schindler, and Elaine Rodland; and her grandchild Darren Bercier.
My sweet Aunty Mousie, I loved you like I loved my mom. You two were as close to twins as sisters could ever be. You were always the fun and crazy one and that’s what we all loved about you. Gary,Brenda,Jeremy,Angie,Riss,Devion,Jacob,and Alexa, I am so glad I had the privilege of meeting Francis and Bert many years back. In just the short hours with them both, I felt the love they had for each other and their family. They welcomed me so warmly. I know there are many miles between us but want you all to know that we are wishing you comfort and peace knowing Bert and Francis are once again reunited. Wish I could give you all many hugs!
