Frances Joan (Bloomensaat) Ellefson, 79, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at her daughter?s home in Argusville, ND, under Hospice care. Frances was born in Fargo, ND, on July 1, 1923. She lived in Fargo until moving to the family home in rural Aneta, ND, in 1930. She graduated from Aneta High School in 1941. She married Gordon Ellefson in Aneta on September 12, 1943. They made their home along the Sheyenne River north of Cooperstown, ND. They were blessed with four children. Gordon passed away in 1987. Frances moved to Cooperstown, ND, in 1990. In November 2001 she moved to Argusville. She is survived by three daughters, Nola (Jim) Meredith, Tulsa, OK, Wanda Kay (Marlin) Niess, Argusville, and Becky (Denis) Thompson, Great Falls, MT; one son, Todd (Jill) Ellefson, Aneta; eight grandchildren, James (Janice) Meredith, Jason (Valarie) Meredith, Rebecca Barnes, Elizabeth (Larry) Herzog, Sarah (Tom) Meester, Brett (Susan) Thompson, Nic Thompson, and Emma Ellefson; five great grandchildren, Mikey and Katy Meester, Amanda and Theo Herzog, and Mackenzie Linie; nieces, Pat Jensen and Caroline Scott, both of Langdon, ND; four brothers, Clarence Bloomensaat, Battle Creek, MI, Herman (Irma) Semeliss, Jamestown, NC, Leo (Avis) Simless, Otsego, MI, Burton (Sue) Simless, Augusta, GA; one sister, D. Patricia (AB) Tredway, Memphis, TN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Verna Baker and Violet Erickson; and brothers, Everett Morris and Jon Skogen. Frances was devoted to her family and friends. She dearly loved her Lord. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 18, at 4 p.m. in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, with visitation from 2-4 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 19, at 1 p.m. in Ottawa Lutheran Church, rural Aneta, ND, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Ottawa Cemetery.
