Frances "Fran" Swenson

Frances E. Swenson, age 79, of Kindred, ND passed away on January 16, 2018 at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. Frances was born on January 12, 1939 to Benjamin and Mary Frances Stout in Jamestown, ND. She grew up with 5 brothers and 2 sisters and was the youngest of 8 children. Her enjoyment of gardening, flowers, and animals stemmed from being raised on a farm and her love for the farm was apparent throughout her life. Frances did many things in her life, some of which included being a hair stylist, a nursing assistant, and a room attendant for several years in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fran thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. Camping, fishing, and going on drives around the country to take in the scenes and the wildlife. Fran had 4 children she loved dearly and was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one more on the way. She was blessed to have found her best friend Wally Swenson and married him on March 11, 1982. They lived a happy life together full of many adventures and long lasting memories. Surviving family members include her husband Wally Swenson of kindred ND, her sons Calvin Herk of Finley, ND, Cameron (Lisa) Herk of Vergas, MN, Kevin (Jane) Herk of Horace, ND, daughter Brandi (Anthony) of Fargo, ND, her brothers Ben (Ramona) Stout of Aberdeen, WA, Bob (Carol) Stout of Ohio. 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nephews, nieces, cousins and great friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Mary Frances Stout, her infant son Kerry Herk, brothers Joe Stout, Lee Stout, George Stout, and sisters Julia Flaherty and Irene Rosan. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 22, 2018, at Fredrikson-Boulger Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Fredrikson-Boulger Funeral Chapel.

We will all take great comfort knowing you’re with family members that love you as much as we all do. When we get there we will look for you camped by the fishing pond.   4. I truly enjoyed visits with Fran….she always had a smile on her beautiful face. Although she will be missed by many, there’s comfort in knowing she is soaring with Angels! RIP dear Fran!!!
