Frances W. Johnson

In loving memory of Frances Wilma Johnson who entered this world on October 20, 1927. Born in Lisbon, North Dakota, Frances radiated warmth and kindness in all she did. Frances peacefully departed on April 2, 2024, at Sheyenne Crossings, West Fargo.

Throughout her life’s journey, Frances embraced every moment with joy and sincerity. Frances spent her grade school and high school years in Lisbon, and then later received her high school diploma. She then pursued her education at Ellendale College for IBM key punch.

After she was married, she lived by the Sheyenne River, Gwinner, Lisbon, Ellendale and later Fargo. While in Fargo, Frances worked in Fargo for Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Bowler, and Dakota Hospital until she retired around 1996.

Francis loved to dance until she 87 years old. Frances also enjoyed her time on the paintings she created the puzzles she solved, the walks she had and the card games she played with joy.

She is survived by her special friend John Clark, her children, Melony (Jerry) Stainbrook, Randy (Doreen) McFarland, Marla (Kenneth) Schatzke, Sandy (Gary) Osborn, Brian (Jackie) McFarland, Pam (Alan) Tangen. 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Alice (Leach) Johnson, her sister Mildred Wheeler and Lorelle Brash.
