Fraser Edward Stuart Harrison passed away on October 3, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with stage 4 prostate cancer.

Fraser was born March 6, 1938 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, to William (Bill) Harrison and Marguerite Fraser Harrison. Fraser attended Benson Elementary School and Scott Collegiate high school in Regina. Fraser married his high school sweetheart Janice (Jan) Root in Regina on September 9, 1961. They raised two wonderful daughters Lori and Lisa.

Fraser worked for Westeel, Inc., in Regina starting on the order desk in 1960 and then as a salesman. He was transferred to the Fargo office in 1973 and retired from Westeel after 45 years. After retirement he worked as a driver for Senior Ride Service and as a greeter for Sanford Guest Services. In 1975, along with his family, he joined First Presbyterian Church of Fargo where he served as a volunteer van driver, a member of Buildings and Grounds, as a Deacon, and assisted in settling refugee families. He was an active member of the St. Andrew’s Scottish Society for 50 years. When not working or volunteering, he enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren that earned him a t-shirt with “This Grandpa is a Pushover”, cruises, trips around the globe and celebrating his and Jan’s 50th wedding anniversary in Alaska.

Fraser is survived by his wife Jan, daughters Lori (Mark) Love of Jamestown, ND, and Lisa (Brent) Johnson of Laporte, MN; grandchildren Cameron (Amanda) Love and children Emmett and Mackenzie of Jamestown, ND; Jesse Johnson of Laporte, MN; Kara (Adam) Harwood and daughter Lucy of Orono, MN; Braydon (Paige) Love and sons Arlo and Bremen of West Fargo, ND; Nolan (Erin) Love and daughter Lukah of Jamestown, ND; and Inno Nsengiyumva of Minneapolis, MN; his siblings Alvin Harrison, Morley (Fay) Harrison, Verne (Gladys) Harrison; sister-in-law Karen Knutson; brother-in-law Don (Candy) Root, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Buster Harrison and Dennis Harrison; sister Joyce Duerr; brother-in-law Jerry Duerr; niece Janet Don and husband Martin Don; and nephew Brian Knutson.

Funeral services will be held on October 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, Fargo, ND, with visitation at 1:00 p.m.

Harvey and I are so sorry to hear of Fraser’s passing. When we think of some of the memories we have from the years of Harvey and Fraser working together at Westeel; to the times you joined us for a week of fun at Clear Lake, Manitoba; to the Westeel interbranch competitions in the prairie provinces, we always have a big smile on our faces. He will be missed.

      Harvey and Donna Weiss

  23. I Knew Fraser from Norwest Bank in Downtown Fargo. He was truly our most cheerful and witty customer. He always spoke well of our Bank and all of our employees. Everyone who knew Fraser, knew what a truly Good, Caring, Funny Guy he really was. If you knew Fraser, you Loved Fraser! What an honest, smart, Gentleman he was. He often brought treats in for our whole Customer Service Department and ALWAYS on our Birthdays. He made our jobs so much easier and fun. If we ran into Fraser and Jan outside of the Bank they would always be up for a good visit. Our spouses got to know them also from sidewalk or clinic visits. What a wonderful couple they were. He always spoke Lovingly of Jan, and we felt we knew Lisa and Lori just from Fraser speaking of them. He just glowed when sharing stories of his girls.
After retirement we moved from Fargo and lost track of the Harrisons’ – truly our loss.
What a people person! We cannot be at his funeral but will certainly be watching the livestream. The world has lost a special guy. God Speed Fraser.
We send Hugs, Sympathy, and Prayers for strength to Jan and all of their Family.

  24. Fraser had more energy and sense of humor in every thing he did. We loved our time at 1st Presbyterian and Fraser had a lot to do with that.
We’re sorry for your loss Jan and family.
May God’s comfort be with you.

    John and Sue Cacioppo

  25. I had known Fraser back in my days at First Presbyterian, but especially when we were working on the Scottish Sunday. I am back in Fargo, having spent several years in Bemidji, MN. I was so sorry to see his obituary in the newspaper, and wanted to let his family know that he was not a person who was easy to forget. I’m 98 years old now, and remember the many times he offered help if I needed it.

  26. I got to know Fraser through his work with Inno. What a wonderful family you are! Fraser and Jan did a wonderful job helping Inno and his mother settle here. I was last able to visit with your family at Inno’s high school graduation. God Bless all of you and I know Fraser has a special place with the Lord.

  27. I am a Sanford Orthopedic patient, and I always looked forward to seeing Fraser with his smile and friendly greeting everytime I came to an appointment or PT.

His gentle smile and gift of hospitality touched many many people!

    Bless his memory and family.

  28. “An uncle is a blessing. It means so many things. Words could never tell the joy an uncle brings. An uncle is a bond of faith that even time can’t sever, a gift to last forever.” I will really miss you and your uncle/fatherly ways, miles apart yet you were always there. You truly are a wonderful soul that always lifted mine with smiles, laughter, hugs and of course the teasing, always teasing. I wish I had more time with you, the world will not be the same without Uncle Fraser in it. I will cherish you always. Love to my family Auntie Janice, cousins Lori & Mark, Lisa & Brent and family.
