Frieda Schap, 88, 515 30th Avenue North, Fargo, North Dakota, died Friday, November 7, 2003, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Frieda Heinze was born near Oriska, ND, to Julius Heinze and Agnes (Lorenz) on July 13, 1915. She grew up near Oriska and attended school there. She helped manage the family business, a gas station and restaurant in Oriska. Frieda Heinze and Loren Schap were married on April 28, 1943 at St. Bernard?s Catholic Church, Oriska. Frieda and Loren lived in North Dakota, California, Idaho, and Tennessee. Frieda and Loren operated the Heinze family business until they moved to Fargo in 1948. For many years Frieda worked with Catholic Charities and with Social Services providing a foster home for many children. In 1981 she and her husband retired in Fargo, North Dakota to be closer to their family and friends. Frieda has made gorgeous quilts and many dolls, was a beautiful seamstress, an avid sports fan, card player, and treasured time with her family and friends. Frieda?s door was always open for a friendly visit over a cup of coffee. Her love for others and her strong faith will always be kept alive in the hearts of her family. We will miss you mom, grandma and great grandma. You have a special place in our hearts and we will love you forever. She is survived by two daughters, Sister Patricia Schap, Annunciation Monastery, Bismarck, ND, and Sharon (Gary) Renier, Fargo; daughter-in-law, Janet Schap, Fargo; three sisters, Agnes Wishart, Missoula, Montana, Rose Diemert, Shelton, Washington, and Lillian Pommerer, Oriska; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Frieda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren; son, Dallas; three brothers; five sisters; and one great grandchild. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 in the Church of the Holy Spirit, Fargo.
