Gail Antonoplos
April 7, 1935 ~ December 23, 2023
Gail Antonoplos passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023 at the age of 88. Gail was born April 7,1935 in Chicago IL to Harold F. McHugh and
Charlotte McHugh. She grew up on White Willow Road outside Minooka IL and graduated from St Francis Academy of Joliet Illinois.
Gail married James Antonoplos of Pittsburg in 1957. To this marriage 3 daughters and a son were born. The family lived in Pittsburgh, St. Paul and Moorhead before eventually settling in North Fargo
Gail was involved in her children’s activities as a homeroom mother, a 4H leader, Campfire Girls leader and Cub Scout Den Mother. She could be a force of nature when organizing events for her children, church and the community.
The early 70’s were fun as Gail was a billet mom to as many as 4 junior hockey players at a time with the FM Sugar Kings as well as hosting visitors from around the world including Spain, Japan and Norway.
Gail enjoyed Gourmet cooking, sewing, entertaining, design and playing bridge. Most of all Gail loved the role of hostess. Her home was a gathering place for her friends as well as her children’s friends – nobody was a stranger in the Antonoplos home.
Later in life she rejoined the work force as an Interior Designer with Ethan Allen prior to a 20 year career with Blue Cross Blue Shield, starting as a customer service rep on the phone working her way up to retirement as a Corporate Trainer. Following retirement, she joined Hospice of the RR Valley as a volunteer eventually working for Hospice as an employee for almost 20 years.
Gail built a beautiful home in West Fargo that became the gathering point for family and friends. She loved travel and took trips throughout the US and abroad including the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Ireland and Greece. She was a huge Bison football fan and spent many years tailgating and attending games.
Gail enjoyed the last 6 years as a resident of Touchmark at Harwood Groves retirement community. She was blessed to make many treasured friends at Touchmark, sharing many a happy hour, trivia night or outing in the community.
Gail is survived and lovingly remembered by her brother, Don (Mary Margaret) and their children, David and Deirdre; daughters, M. Lynn (Steve) Antonoplos Catron of Nekoosa, WI, Jayme Antonoplos of Fort Myers, FL, Mollie Antonoplos of Irving, TX; and son, Joe (Beth) Antonoplos of Fargo; grandchildren, Sam Timmons of Mayer, AZ, Jake Timmons of Indianapolis, IN, and Nick and Joey Antonoplos of Fargo.

I am so sorry to hear of Gail’s passing. I will miss our rides together to her appointments and our talks. She was never afraid to speak her mind and I liked that about her. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Gail was so special to me. Her gusto for life and joy in everything she did was contagious and inspiring. As her son Joe’s friend and Fraternity brother, Gail welcomed me into her home and I always felt like family. She was a mom and gave me a little kick in the butt when I needed it, and a friend always. I am so grateful for the love and joy I experienced with Gail and her family. That legacy will live on in me always. Gail, you were so loved. And you will be missed!
Thank you Kyle!
Sorry to hear of Gail’s passing. She was a great friend.

I remember Gail from the time Joe was playing youth hockey in north Fargo. She was always very interesting to talk to and had a strong love for her children and the activities they were involved in. My condolences to all of the Antonoplos children in the loss of their loving mother.

What an incredible lady that always had a beautiful smile when she came to the salon for a refresher ♥️ Love and hugs to the family.
Gail and I worked together in Corporate Training at Blue Cross Blue Shield of ND. She was an excellent trainer and related well to new employees. She enjoyed doing new employee orientation and making new employees feel welcome. She would occasionally host the entire training department at her house for a night of cooking. We had lots of good food, drinks, and lots of laughs.
.We remember Gail from being neighbors from 1964 to 1967. from bridge club and having children of the same age. We’re sorry we lost contact the past few years but we can’t be at the memorial service as we will be in Florida. Our condolence to all f

I’m so sorry to hear of Gail’s passing. I knew her from Holy Spirit & North Fargo. I have very fond memories of working with her as decorators with Ethan Allen Gallery in the late 1970’s. Every occasion was just so much more fun with Gail! She was an amazing woman & will be missed by many!
Condolences to Joe and family.
My sympathy to Gail’s family. I had the privilege of meeting Gail while working at Hospice of the Red River Valley (HRRV). She was so kind and always welcoming when coming back to the building after a long & sometimes difficult day. I appreciated Gail so much. She was a special lady!
Thank You Vicki !!
Gail was a special lady that is for sure. I worked with Gail at BCBSND and she trained me and did a darn good job if you ask me. She was always kind and always thought about the people she was training and what worked for us. She may not have always followed all the rules but she got the job done and I was lucky to have her in my life. God bless Gail and fly high my friend.
