Gary H. Glessing

Gary H. Glessing, 77, of Fargo, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, in the comfort of his home.

Gary was born on May 11, 1949, in Moorhead, Minnesota, the son of Lyle and Lucille (Mohs) Glessing. He was raised in Fargo and made Fargo his home throughout his entire life.

Gary served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Following his military service, he returned home to Fargo and drove truck for Fargo Tank. He then went on to build a long and successful career as a sales representative for Pennzoil. Through his many years with Pennzoil, Gary became a familiar face to countless people throughout the area. He enjoyed the relationships he built through his work, and for many, Gary and Pennzoil simply went hand in hand.

Gary loved being outside. He spent as much time as possible outside gardening, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, cutting firewood, maintaining the yard, or playing catch with his boys after work. He was happiest when he had an opportunity to go hunting or fishing. To say he excelled with a fishing pole or firearm, would be an understatement. In addition, Gary had excellent mechanical skills that included doing all of his own vehicle repairs and helping neighbors when called on.

Gary was witty and his quiet but sharp sense of humor was thoroughly enjoyed by those close to him. He taught the value of hard work, and always would encourage to “do your best”. Gary was always more than willing to help family, friends and neighbors.

Above all else, Gary was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family meant a great deal to him, and he was especially proud of his grandchildren and the time he was able to spend with them.

Gary is survived by his wife, Pam, Fargo; his sons, Robert (Stephanie), Bemidji, MN, and Michael (Roza), Fargo; and his grandchildren, Saul, Mila,
and Nora Glessing.
