In loving memory of Gary Camp, it is with heavy hearts that we announce his passing at the age of 64, on November 2, 2023, at his home in Fargo. He fought an extraordinarily brave battle with cancer, demonstrating unwavering strength and resilience until the very end.

Born on November 6, 1958, in Fargo, ND, Gary was the cherished son of William “Bill” and Ardis (Huseby) Camp. He spent his formative years in Mapleton, cultivating the values of hard work, beginning his life-long career in the bakery industry, at the early age of 14. This dedication is what he would carry throughout his life through his work in the bustle of the twin cities area, the shores of Puerto Rico, and finally in the beauty of the Red River Valley in Fargo.

Though Gary was known for work, it was his role as a brother, a rock of his family, and a pillar of support to so many that truly defined him. His giving nature knew no bounds; he selflessly helped those in need without hesitation. Gary possessed a dynamic personality that could light up any room he entered. His infectious laughter and warm spirit brightened the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Gary’s legacy lives on through his loving family, who were immensely proud of his accomplishments and the kind-hearted person he was. He leaves behind his beloved mother, and countless cherished memories shared with his siblings, extended family, and many friends.
Survivors include his mother, Ardis Stronstad of Fargo; his siblings – Doug Camp of Fargo; Deb (Brent) Hartz of Mapleton; Cheryl Olson of Duluth, MN; Barb Atkinson of Florence, AL; Laurie Hansen of Fargo; Patty (Rick) St. Germain of Fargo; Greg (Louise) Camp of Rio, WI; Karen Rebold of Moorhead, MN; and Beth (Dean) Larson of Zimmerman, MN; and many very dear nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” Camp; and his maternal grandparents, Conrad and Frances Huseby.

In this time of profound sadness, we invite all those whose lives were touched by Gary to join us in celebrating his life by sharing a memory on the online guestbook, available at www.boulgerfuneralhome.com. A private Celebration of Life, where family will gather to share stories, find solace in one another’s presence, and honor the memory of an exceptional brother, son, uncle, and friend, will take place at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo.

Gary Camp will forever be remembered for his selflessness, his boundless love, and his unequivocal devotion to others. May his bright spirit continue to shine on in our hearts, serving as a reminder to live each day with compassion and kindness.

Rest in eternal peace, dear Gary.

Please join the family for cocktails, in memory of Gary, after 4 PM on Friday at O’Kelly’s in Fargo.

  10. Gary’s passing breaks my heart. We met Gary at Buttrey-Osco also. Whenever we would see him, it was as if you would have just seen him yesterday. He got such a kick out of sneaking up on me and scaring me or throwing bakery items in my cart. I always looked for him in cash wise, just in case he stopped in. RIP GARY, I hope you know how much you were loved by many.
