George Henry Densinger Jr.

George Henry Densinger, Jr. passed away peacefully at Eventide Senior Home in Fargo, ND on January 17th, 2023 surrounded by family and friends. He was 78 years old.

George was born on February 14th, 1944 to George Henry Densinger Sr. and Ruth Ann (Wiebusch) Densinger in Crookston, MN. He attended West Fargo, ND public schools when the family moved to West Fargo, ND in 1946 after George, Sr. started work at the Armour & CO plant in West Fargo. George moved to Fargo in 1960 for employment reasons. He was a resident of Fargo, ND until his death.

George worked in construction for many years and saw a lot of the country while going to different job sites. He was able to tell family and friends about the unique and sometimes hilarious things he experienced at these job sites. He related how he worked on the top of air control towers at Grand Forks AFB and deep in the missile silos at Minot AFB as one of his most interesting job experiences as he had to have “security clearances” from all the “Air Force Generals”. In later years he did handyman/maintenance work at the apartment complex he also helped to build.

George loved the outdoors and in his younger years was an avid hunter and fisherman and went on many hunting trips with friends as he was always looking for that “big bear” that he could shoot and maybe get a bear rug from. George was charismatic and a natural “comic” at heart. He could make some kind of joke about almost anything. Family and friends told him he should have done stand-up comedy as he sure could come up with some “good ones”. He kept that sense of humor even into his last days when he wasn’t feeling good and frequently kept the nursing home staff entertained.

George is survived by his Sister JoAnn Bjorem, Nephew David (Cati) Brock, Grand-nephew Kyle Brock, Grand-niece Emily Brock and several cousins. Brothers Thomas Densinger and Joseph Densinger, Parents George, Sr. and Ruth Densinger and several aunts, uncles and cousins preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be held at Boulger Funeral Home on January 20, 2023 at 2 pm. Burial will be at Holy Cross North cemetery, Fargo, ND at a later date.
