Gerald Delaney

Gerald M. Delaney, 66, Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 in his home. Gerald M. Delaney was born December 1, 1939 in Borup, MN. He grew up on a farm near there and graduated from Borup High School in 1957. He then worked for American Crystal Sugar. Gerald served in the U. S. Army from April 19, 1960 until his discharge May 8, 1962. He was employed at NCR from 1963-1994 when he retired after 31 years employment. He then worked for Magnum Electric and Addem Inc until November 1999 when he became ill. Gerald and Darlene Winter were married in 1964 in Mahnomen, MN. He was an active member of Nativity Church until his illness. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Eagles. Gerald enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed bowling, golf, and hunting. He is survived by his wife Darlene; his children, Constance (Perry) McClellan, West Fargo, ND, Michael Delaney, Fargo, ND, Lisa (Fred) Baker, Gilbert, MN and Jay (Tracie) Delaney, Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Jessica and Jacob McClellan, Kelsey Delaney, Casey and Cole Baker, and Brooke Senior; his mother, Eva Delaney, Twin Valley, MN; his brother, Richard (Mary Lou) Delaney, Twin Valley, MN; two sisters, Patricia (Tom) Archer, Pelican Rapids, MN and Rosemary (Fred) Cross, Isanti, MN; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Delaney; a brother, Robert Delaney; and a grandson, Logan McClellan. Memorials are preferred to Church of the Nativity or Hospice of the Red River Valley. Visitation: Thursday, June 22, 2006 ? 4-7 p.m. ?
