Gerald (Jerry) Wayne Gilbraith passed away on March 9, 2020. Jerry was born on July 4, 1939 in Devils Lake, ND. He was the son of Orville and Mildred (Morse) Gilbraith. Jerry lived on a farm by Doyon, ND until he was 11 years old. His father worked in construction so they traveled throughout the states of ND and SD. Jerry was united in marriage on October 11,1958 to Maida Lang in Wall, SD. Jerry was employed by Tennefos Construction, Krider Equipment and Butler Machinery. He retired in 1999 from Butler Machinery after working there for 29 years. Jerry is survived by his wife, Maida of 61 years. 2 sons Wes (Tammy) and Randy (Janette) all of Fargo and 1 daughter, Kathy (Steve) Finneman of Missoula, MT; 6 grandchildren, Kira (Joe) Sornsin, Nate Gilbraith, Gannon Gilbraith (Melissa Halvorson), Kiana Gilbraith, Sara (Court) Wallace and Ben (Jaime) Haagenson, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, sister Lois Hanson and brother Neil (Sheila) Gilbraith. Jerry was a member of the First Congregational Church, and El Zagal Shrine Provost Guard Unit. Jerry was an avid hunter in his early years and enjoyed snowmobiling, camping at Long Lake campground, where they made many lifelong friends, and spending time with his family at their condo on Detroit Lakes. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials to the Shrine Children’s Hospital or Sanford Hospice House or a charity of your choice. Prayer Service: Thursday, March 12, 2020, at 7:00 PM with visitation beginning at 6:00 PM at First Congregational Church, Fargo, ND,. Funeral Service: Friday, March 13, 2020, 11:00 AM at First Congregational Church, Fargo, ND, Internment: At a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.     We are so sorry for your loss. My Mom and Dad and I had the pleasure of getting to know Gerry at Bethany. He was delightful.

  2. Miss you little brother, will always miss our time together, we were quit the pair. In spite of our shenanigans, we both lived into our 80s. We are going to miss you more then you know. My condolences to Maida and all the family, love you all dearly. Lois Hanson.

  4. So sorry to hear about Jerry. So many fun memories. Mom and I were just talking the other day about when “Lisa” (haha) killed all of your aquarium fish. Jerry and Dad are together again and that makes my heart happy, even though I know yours hurts right now. They are getting into trouble I’m guessing just like in the old days! He is happy and living life to the fullest again! Keep all those memories close to our hearts……Hugs & Love to you all!

  9. Maida, so sorry to hear of Jerry’s passing. So many memories growing up! Jerry was always our “boyfriend”, (Karen, Susan, Jessica and Janet). We always had fun at construction camp! I’m so glad we had some time together at Marty’s house in Minot and Aunt Jeannies service. Such a fun person, like his dad! Prayers for you and your family. Blessings to all. LOVE, Susan
