Gerald Mellem

Gerald E. Mellem, 78, Mcleod, ND passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Golden Living Center, Moorhead.

Gerald was born September 7, 1936 in Breckendridge, MN to Gordon and Ingrid (Ulsaker) Mellem. He grew up and attended school in Wyndmere, ND. He farmed with his uncles on the family farm in Mcleod for much of his life. He married Dorothy Schudar on September 5, 1964 at St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in Cayuga, ND. They lived in Kindred, ND before making their home in Mcleod, ND.

Gerald was always there for his family. Gerald and Dorothy hosted Christmas every year at his house and enjoyed helping his nieces and nephews when they needed him. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved mowing his lawn and planting trees on his property.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy; daughter, Donita (Brad) Burgard, West Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Tiffany, Sophia and Carson, brother, Allen (Marlene) Mellem, Mcleod, ND and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
