Geraldine “Jeri” Ekstrom, 86, passed away April 17, 2022, at Essentia Health in Fargo.
Jeri was born September 3, 1935, to John and Minnie Swenson in Kindred, North Dakota. She was baptized on September 22nd, 1935, at Norman Lutheran. She grew up in Kindred and graduated from Kindred High School. Upon graduation, she attended Concordia College.
On July 7, 1956, Jeri was united in marriage to Arnold Ekstrom at Norman Lutheran Church in Kindred. Their family grew with the adoption of their children Timothy and Tracy. In addition to being a mother, she was a dedicated, hard worker devoting many years of service to both St. Luke’s Hospital and JC Penny. After retiring from Penny’s, she worked at Interstate Dragway for many years. She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Geraldine enjoyed cross stitching and taking trips.
She is survived by her children Tim (Renee) Ekstrom and Tracy (Don) Miller; her grandchildren Kyle (Krystle) Ekstrom and Ashley (Kelvin) Efterfield. Great Grand children Adrian, Brayden, Kaylie, Emma, Abby and Piper.
She is preceded in death by her husband Arnold Ekstrom.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John Health Ministry Program are preferred.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 9:00 on Monday, April 25, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church, Fargo.

Jeri was one of my favorite customers at Big Top. She was always pleasant. When my son came home from his deployment, she made sure I had plenty of newspaper articles of his homecoming. She was always bringing treats in during the holidays. Prayers for the family.
