Gert Carlson Gert Carlson, 80, Fargo, ND, died Monday, July 16, 2007 in her home. Gertrude Cossette was born in Fargo, ND on September 3, 1926. She grew up in Wild Rice, ND and attended school there. She married Erik V. Carlson in Fargo on May 15, 1945. She has lived in Fargo since then. Mr. Carlson died May 26, 1989. She is preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Ena Cossette, her husband, Erik, daughter, Cheryl Lundblad, and her sister, Agatha Rose. Family and friends were very important to Gert. She loved dancing, and playing cards. She belonged to several card clubs, and was an inspiration to her family. She is survived by two daughters, Joanne (Gene) Nyhof, Fargo, and Janet (Steve) Olmstead, Fargo, 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; five brothers, Roland Cossette, Fargo, Raymond Cossette, Arizona, Roger Cossette, Fargo, Gaston Cossette, Fresno, CA, and Gerald Cossette. rural Moorhead.
