Gilberta Clemenson, age 81, of Fargo, passed away with dignity on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at ManorCare after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.

Gilberta was born on November 23, 1932, the daughter of Herman and Yvonne (Lavallèe) Cossette, near Horace, ND. She grew up on the family farm and attended school at St. Benedict’s Catholic School.  Gilberta was united in marriage to Willis Clemenson on July 26, 1952 in St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Wild Rice, ND.  They made their home and raised their family in Fargo. Throughout her life the greatest joy came from being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was devoted in her faith and a longtime member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

Gilberta is survived by her son, Wayne (Deb) of Fargo - and their children, Scott (Becca) and Nick Clemenson; her  daughter, June (Dean) Edmunds of Fargo - and their daughter, Noel Edmunds; her sister, Rita Levin of Henderson, NV; and several nieces and nephews and many other very dear relatives and friends.

Sorry to see and hear the loss of aunt Gilberta, she was such a “spiffy” put together lady and always looked like a million dollars. I will miss her at the Clemenson family reunions.

Gilberta has been a dear friend and neighbor. My daughters and granddaughters, and most recently my great granddaughter joined us in visiting her enjoying family activiities and holiday blessings. She most liked my saurkraut but she loved her toast and cucumber sandwhiches. She was enjoyable to visit with and treasured her family. May she rest in peace.

Wayne and June, please find peace in the fact that Willis and Gilberta are together again. Now both of their suffering is done. I know it is very hard to lose a parent and you never get over it. Just remember all the good times that you had with them and keep them in your memories. God Bless you all.
