Gloria Mae Ibach, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully, on Friday, January 5th at St Catherine’s North, at the age of 86.

Gloria Savageau was the youngest of nine children born to Henry and Rose Savageau on November 2, 1937, in Fargo ND. She grew up and attended school in Fargo. She had a special bond with her siblings, and she cherished her time with them.

Gloria met Anton (Tony) Ibach Jr. while he was dragging Broadway. Dad proposed to Mom at the Fargo Theatre, and they were married on August 24, 1957, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. They had three children, Tammy (Lorne) Critchley, Tina (Jeff) Johnson, Anthony (Hollie) Ibach. Five grandchildren: Kyle (Steph) Critchley, Jill (Keegan) Anderson, Cole Larsen, Tyler Ibach and Chandler Ibach; and six great grandchildren, Gwen, Millie and Archie Critchley and Oliver, Emma, and Lucy Anderson.

Gloria had an admirable work ethic, starting at a young age and continuing throughout her life, rarely missing a day. While raising her family she worked at Roman Meal, General Nutrition and in 1989 at the age of 52 she got her GED and her favorite job at Moorhead State University in Food Service. Gloria spent 20+ years at MSU, she loved going to work and feeding the students!

Her family was her deepest joy and she loved to have them by her side. Her kitchen was a favorite place to gather for family, friends, and neighbors. Gloria also cherished all the time spent with her many in-laws, the lifetime friends from the 50’s, camping at Viking Bay, gardening, bingo, and an occasional trip to the casino.

She had a sweet demeanor, a kind and generous heart, and a contagious smile. She was the best mother-in-law and a favorite Aunt to many of her nieces and nephews.

Gloria was preceded by her parents and her loving husband of 51 years, Tony as well as all her siblings.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers a donation be made to Hospice of the Red River Valley.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND, with visitation beginning one hour prior.
