Gordon Andrew Gilberts, aged 83, of West Fargo, North Dakota, passed away on March 1, 2025, at Essentia Health in Fargo. He was born on November 28, 1941, in Northwood, North Dakota, to Oscar and Gladys (Gunderson) Gilberts.

A proud member of the Class of 1959 from West Fargo High School, Gordon enlisted in the United States Army shortly thereafter, serving from 1960 to 1963, including a tour of duty overseas. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to West Fargo, where he would build his life and family.

Gordon married the love of his life, Arlene Rheault, on June 6, 1964, at St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church in Moorhead, Minnesota. Together, they created a warm and loving home in West Fargo.

Throughout his career, Gordon dedicated many years to Held Beef before joining SuperValu, from which he retired in 2007.

An avid outdoorsman, Gordon cherished his time hunting and enjoyed regular visits to the casino. He was a passionate sports fan, often seen supporting his favorite teams, including the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings, as well as participating in the excitement of NASCAR.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Arlene, West Fargo, ND; children, Craig Gilberts, Horace, ND, Todd (Kathy) Gilberts, Detroit Lakes, MN, Lonny Gilberts, West Fargo, ND; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Vernita Bubar, MaryAnn Pfiefer, Oscar Gilberts, Graydon Gilberts, Dale Gilberts and Bennett Gilberts.

  3. My deepest sympathy to you Arleen and your family for your lose of Gordon. I remember you Arleen from the Hi-Ten Steakhouse, where I worked with you. When there was ever a brake in business, you would stand at the end of the counter in the kitchen and we had many conversations. I was one of the cooks there.

    My name is Fred Rodriguez from West Fargo. I played softball for the Town Hall Bar. Gordie was the best bartender ever. He put up with are dumb stuff, never lost his cool. Served ah cold beer n great drink. Goodie was one of a kind Bartender and friend. He will be missed greatly. God Bless Gordie and his family.
