Grace Cotton

Grace Mary (McDonald) Cotton Grace M. Cotton, age 94, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home under their care, Hospice, and her loving family. Grace was born February 18, 1915 to Harry and Louise (Vettel) McDonald at Caledonia, ND. She grew up in Caledonia and graduated from the High School in 1933. She married Wilbur Cotton June 27, 1935 at St. Rose of Lima Church in Hillsboro, ND. They made their home on the Cotton Farm in Caledonia Township and lived there until 1970 when they retired and moved to Hillsboro. Grace belonged to the Riverside Homemaker’s club for 50 years and to the Hillsboro Hospital Auxiliary. She was a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lima Church and belonged to the Altar Society. She is survived by nine children, Gerald (Gene)(Ruth Luverne) Cotton, Two Harbors MN, Patricia Landgaard (Louis) Biermaier, Crookston, MN; Sharon Grothmann (Gerry) Radebaugh, Grandin, ND; Howard (Colette) Cotton, Cummings, ND; Beverly (Leydon) Kolness, Hendrum, MN; Kenneth (Cecilia) Cotton, Hillsboro, ND; Laurel(Lolly) (Duane) Dumas, Lake Park, MN; Jeannine (Lowell) Henn, Cushing, MN; Tom (Molly) Cotton, Little Falls, MN; 42 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 22 step great grandchildren, and 4 step great-great grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur on April 27, 1978; one grandchild & three great grandchildren; two son-in-laws, Art Grothmann and Jerome Landgaard; sister, Teresa Abentroth; brothers, Willard McDonald and Harry McDonald. Visitation: 4-7 PM Friday, May 8, 2009 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hillsboro – and also one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Saturday. Prayer Service: 7 PM Friday at the church Funeral Service: 11 AM Saturday, May 9, 2009 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Burial: St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro Memorials are preferred to St. Rose of Lima and Hillsboro Medical Center. Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
