Grace Kohler

Grace L. Kohler, age 101, Fargo, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, in ManorCare Health Services, Fargo. Grace L. Schornack was born December 12, 1902, in Perham, MN, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Chizen) Schornack. As a young girl, the family moved to Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada. She lived on a farm there and attended country school. Following the death of her parents when Grace was the age of 13, she was sent to live in a convent in St. Paul, MN. She later married Edward W. Kohler in Grand Forks. They lived in Grand Forks for a few years before moving to Fargo. They have resided in Fargo since that time. Mr. Kohler passed away in 1986. Grace moved to Manor Care in 1995. She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Smith, Fargo; one grandson, James (Diane) Smith, West Des Moines, IA; and two great grandchildren, Shawn and Karin Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 11 brothers and sisters. A private family service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
