Harriet Larson

August 13, 1930 ~ April 25, 2012
Harriet Alvina (Lindaas) Larson, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2012 at the Hatton Prairie Village Nursing Home in Hatton, ND. She was 81.
Harriet was born at home, on August 13, 1930, to Eddie and Emma (Bestul) Lindaas in Lindaas Township near Mayville, ND. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended the Lindaas Consolidated and Mayville schools, graduating in 1948. She was a proud member of the basketball team.
On August 20, 1948 she married Lynn Marvin Larson at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. Three children were born to this union. They raised their family in Finley, ND where Lynn was a Line Superintendent for Sheyenne Valley Electric. After Lynn retired from there in 1969, they moved to Montana and owned and operated the Coast to Coast Store in Forsyth.
Upon selling their hardware business Lynn and Harriet began traveling in their motorhome. They spent much of their time camping near Orick, CA, where Lynn fished, and they both enjoyed visting with the many friends they had made there over the years. They traveled often through Montana, Colorado and Arizona to visit their children and grandchildren.
Lynn and Harriet loved being "snowbirds" in Arizona and eventually bought a retirement home in Mesa where they lived until his passing on April 1, 1997. After Lynn's death, Harriet moved back to Forsyth, MT for several years and then returned to Arizona in 2008. Her best pal in her later years was "Snoop" the cat. They were inseparable until Harriet moved into the nursing home last year. (Snoop remains in Arizona where she is much loved and spoiled by other family members.)
Harriet enjoyed doing crafts over the years and she was a talented artist. She was a hardworker with a great sense of humor, even in the toughest of times. She treasured her family and friends, and took great delight in having a little "birthday buddy" when a great-granddaughter was born on her birthday in 2004. Everyone who knew Harriet loved her. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and words cannot express how deeply she will be missed.
Harriet is survived by her children: Sherie Erbes of Thornton, CO, Wade (Donna) Larson of Bowman, ND, and Renae Larson of Chandler, AZ; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister Margret Ringsrud, Hatton, ND; two brothers, Norman (Ruth) Lindaas of Everett, WA and Elroy (Janice) Lindaas of Mayville, ND; and several nieces and nephews.
