Harry Wadnizak

Harry Michael Wadnizak, 74, went with the Lord Wednesday, August 28, 2013 while at Sanford.

Harry, the youngest child of John and Mary (Furtark) Wadnizak, was born July 13, 1939 at Lehigh, ND.  The family moved to Fargo in 1944.  He graduated from Shanley High School in 1957.  Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the Navy.  He served aboard the USS  Frontier being discharged in 1961.  He later joined the Navy Seabee  Reserve Unit here in Fargo.  He was activated during Desert Storm and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California.  He retired from the Navy in 1991 with 23 years  service.  He worked for Western Electric until 1984 having almost 20 years with the company when it closed in Fargo. Harry joined the Network Services Staff at NDSU in 1987 working there until his retirement in 2002.

Harry and Donna Mae Marquart were united in marriage on July 29, 1968 at St Patrick Catholic Church in Dickinson, ND.  They moved to Fargo in October 1968 making it their home.  They have three children, Pamela Kaye Wadnizak, Paul Michael Wadnizak and Lucretia Anne Wadnizak all of Fargo.

Harry was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Eagles and the Senior Golf Tour.  He was active in his church, The Cathedral of St Mary’s, especially in the Novena of Perpetual Help and Eucharistic Adoration.

Harry enjoyed golfing, was proud of his John Deere “tractor” riding mower/blower and his polyonna tree     (wasn’t suppose to grow this far north).  He enjoyed reconnecting with his former Frontier shipmates at their bi-annual reunions.  He was known for this addiction to tabasco and salsa and always finding something to tinker on.

Harry is survived by this wife, Donna; daughters Pamela and Lucretia, son Paul all of Fargo; two sisters Mary Wadnizak, Fargo, and Frances Rehder, Omaha; numerous nephews and nieces as well as great and great great nieces and nephews

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and Joe and sisters, Lillian and Ann.
