Hazel M. Cossette, 97, Fargo, ND passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at her daughter’s home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Hazel was born May 7, 1924 in Wild Rice, ND to Ovila and Lucinda (Sauvageau) Rheault. She attended school at St. Benedict’s. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Benedict Catholic Church. She married Ernest Cossette on July 18, 1944 and they made their home in Fargo. She loved to spend her time reading, gardening and baking. She was active in her church where she would volunteer to help cook for the homeless and help at funerals. She worked with her husband Ernest for 32 years. Ernest passed away on March 22, 2014. Hazel is survived by her children, LeRoy (Lynn) Cossette, Waynesville, North Carolina, Russell (Gloria) Cossette, Cormorant Lake, MN, Wayne (fiancé Sharon Brunette) Cossette, Detroit Lakes, MN, Karen (Michael) Hofer, Fargo, ND, Michael (Valerie) Cossette, Lake Park, MN, Suzanne (Keith) Holm, Fargo, ND, Kathy (Donnie) Gallus, Lake Park, MN, Joleen Cossette, Fountain Hills, AZ, Faye (Mark) Carmen, Fountain Hills, AZ, Debra (Rod) Young, Lake Park, MN, Joe Cossette, Moorhead, MN; 28 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and sister, Pam Blotsky, Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Roger Rheault, Andrew Rheault, Cleo Rheault, Theresa Thorson, Eileen Laney, Leone Richard, Ella Richard and Florent Rheault. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, West Fargo, ND. Interment: St. Benedict’s Cemetery, Wild Rice, ND.
