Heather Rootes

Heather Leigh Rootes passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024, at her home in Fargo, ND, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Heather was born August 23, 1971 in Boone, Iowa; first born child of Lloyd E. Rootes and Terri (Rootes) Reutter. The family moved to Minnesota where Heather attended school at Fergus Falls. As a young girl, she loved all animals and volunteered at the Humane Society. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1989 and St. Cloud State University in 1994. Eventually she landed in Fargo and joined Dixon Insurance – a job and co-workers that she dearly loved. Heather was an avid reader, loved shopping, and was a faithful fan of the “Price is Right.”

Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Survivors include her parents, Lloyd Rootes and Terry (Bob) Reutter; siblings, Gretchen (Keith) Boehm, Ingrid Fosberg, Leslie (Erik) Huber, Erick (Ashley) Earl, and Matthew Earl; nieces and nephews, Kaleb, Lucas, Alexander, Isabelle, Sam, Hudson, and Aubree; her long-time companion, Jon Gapp; and her beloved cats, Ragmar and Diesel.

Private family services were held.
