Ingrid Higgins

May 5, 1963 ~ June 26, 2025
Ingrid Higgins, born on May 5, 1963, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, humor, and unconditional love.
Ingrid grew up in Mahnomen, Minnesota, where her roots ran deep and her spirit flourished. She was a force — strong in body, mind, and soul — the kind of woman who faced life’s hardest moments with courage and its brightest moments with laughter. Her sense of humor was unmatched, her wit quick, and her heart fiercely loyal to those she loved.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Kayla Higgins and Charlie Ahmann; her loving parents, Robert and Hannelore Ahmann; and her siblings Sharon (along with Dave, Robert, and Jordan),
Jerot, Ron, Jannette, Randy all of whom carry forward her strength, spirit, and laughter.
Ingrid was a beloved friend, a nurturing daughter, a protective sister, and a deeply cherished mother. Her love was not passive — it was bold, fierce, and unwavering. To know her was to know what it meant to be seen, to be protected, and to be loved completely.
Her memory lives on in every joke told at just the right moment, every family meal filled with warmth, and every quiet act of strength and resilience.
She was one of a kind. And she will never be forgotten.
My sincere sympathy to the Ahmann and Higgins families. Rest in Peace Ingrid.

My sympathies to the Ahmann and Higgins families. Rest in peace Ingrid.

When I heard the news, the memories of our friendship came flooding back to me. Through all the good, the bad, and the heartaches of high school, to surviving being separated during Navy boot camp and the shenanigans of Navy life in San Diego. We had a lot of fun along the way. Ingrid’s laugh was infectious, and her sense of humor kept us all entertained. God, those were the best times! I vividly remember being present during the birth of Ingrid’s daughter, Charlie. She was the first person I called after the birth of both of my kids. I thought we’d be joined at the hip forever. Although our lives took different paths, not a day went by that I didn’t think of Ingrid. She will always be my best friend from high school, and the constant presence in my memories of another time, when we navigated life together as soul sisters. She will forever fill a special place in my heart.
Ingrid, I will always love you. Charlie and Kayla, there are no real words to express how badly my heart aches for you. I pray your hearts heal, and you can find peace. To the Ahmann family, I am deeply sorry for your loss.
