She has 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren ranging in age from 40 to 2 years of age whom she cherished. Irene had many interests and hobbies including reading, gardening and a passion for baking that will be dearly missed by all. Irene also had a great love for music and anything artistic. She played piano and taught lessons to anyone who showed interest. As a true Norwegian she loved the thrill of the hunt. That helps to explain the house full of "Treasures" that she could not help pass up on her many shopping trips. Her favorite holiday was Christmas not only because it was her birthday but because of all that the season entailed; Giving and spending time with others listening to Christmas music and baking her family's favorite treats. She will be missed Greatly by her friends, family and most of all her loving husband Melvin. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 pm Friday at Boulger Funeral Home with visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. The funeral will be at 10:00 am Saturday at Nativity Catholic Church with visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 am.

  1. Our sympathy to the Verbout family. We were neighbors (our backyards were together) for 33 years. Melvin, Irene and the children were great neighbors and we visited over the fence often. May God be with you.
