Born in: Christine, North Dakota
Resided in: Fargo, North Dakota

Isabelle Weaver, 97, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, at Ecumen Centennial House in Apple Valley, Minnesota.

Isabelle Johnson was born on July 13, 1928, in Christine, North Dakota, to Eddie and Augusta (Oslie) Johnson. A gifted musician, she pursued her passion for music by attending Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, where she earned her degree in Music.

Throughout her lifetime, Isabelle shared her love of music with many. She was a member of the “Gal Friends,” performing on WDAY TV, and she also dedicated her teaching talents to the West Fargo school district before her marriage. In addition to her formal teaching, Isabelle offered music lessons in her home, fostering a love of music in the next generation for nearly 40 years.

Izzy lived life with gusto right up until her last years. One of her favorite places was Ottertail Lake at the home of her sister Lucy’s family. A great day for her was a swim in the lake, a ride on the pontoon and a paddle in the kayak, passions she pursued into her 90’s.

Isabelle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Weaver, her son, Dick and her dear friend, Maury Lykke. She is survived by her children, Kevin (Linda) Weaver of Detroit Lakes, and Jane Archer of Minneapolis, Minnesota, as well as her cherished grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Isabelle’s memory to a local music program or charity that reflects her passion for music and education.

A celebration of Izzy’s life will be held Friday, July 17, at 11am at Boulger Funeral Home.

  1. Rest in peace, Iz 💖 hope you give Grandpa Maurie trouble up there!!

  2. There was no one quite like Isabelle! She was my next door neighbor and piano teacher to both of my kids. She was also a friend of my father Lyle Anderson. She was always so positive and fun to be around. She will be missed!

  3. Izzy, Congratulations on a long and beautiful life leaving behind fun memories for us all. You were my moms best friend and someone whom I always loved to spend time with when coming back to Fargo. You will be missed here, but in heaven, you are a treasure to all those that knew you. Hugs to you and my mom Gloria as you reunite once again. I love you Isabelle. Deb

  4. Aunt Iz was one of my favorite people in the whole world. She was married to my Uncle Bill who was my Mother’s brother. I always had a wonderful time when visiting her and that included a lot of laughs. She was a treasure for this world and she will always live in my heart.

  5. Greg and Mary Lou Dahms says:

We live down the block from the Weaver’s on 19th Ave., South and a couple of our children took piano lessons from Isabelle. The fact that they stuck it out is such a tribute to her ability to teach the love of music.

  6. Isabell was my Godmother. That was about 80 yrs ago. Although I didn’t see her often, she was a joy to be around.
Years ago I mosaicked a small table for her from a box of china plates that were dropped. The table was for her daughter who was to inherit the collectible plates. I also did a birdhouse for Isabell that thrilled her. My condolences to Jane and Kevin.
. She was a special, lovely lady.
