It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Izetta Rose Cooley, age 46, who left us peacefully in her sleep at her home in Fargo, ND on January 11, 2025. Izetta was a beloved daughter, mother, wife, sister, and friend whose vibrant spirit and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered always.

Born on December 11, 1978, in Rugby, ND, Izetta was the cherished daughter of Theodore Maye and Dorene (Birdsbill) Garza. She grew up in a loving family, attending Maddock Grade School and South High School, before pursuing further education at Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM). In 1997, she married Miguel Jay Cooley Sr., and together they built a beautiful life in the Fargo-Moorhead area, where they nurtured a bustling household filled with love.

Izetta was a proud mother to her seven children—five sons and two daughters—who were her greatest joy and inspiration. She loved each of them deeply and dedicated herself to nurturing their dreams and ambitions. Izetta was also a hardworking individual; she brought her passionate spirit to various jobs, including stints at Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco, and Crary Industries, always striving to support her family.

Beyond her professional life, Izetta embraced her creativity through scrapbooking, crocheting, painting, and journaling. Even in her final days, her ambition shone through as she diligently worked on getting her book published, a testament to her determination and love for storytelling. She enjoyed attending concerts and fighting events, where her vibrant energy left an unforgettable mark.

Izetta leaves behind a loving family, including her husband, Miguel Jay Cooley Sr.; sons, Miguel Jay Cooley Jr., Marco Joe Jerry Cooley, Morgan John Cooley, Mojo Javier Cooley, and Mateo Cooley; daughters, Maryssa Julyann Cooley and Mollycia Jasmine Cooley; and grandchildren, Miguel Cooley and Nathan Cooley. She is also survived by her mother, Dorene Garza; her brothers, Rob Maye, T.J. Solberg, Bill Maye, and Ritchie Solberg; her sisters, Jaunita Maye, Mary Maye, and Anita Maye; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold her memory dear.

Izetta was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Maye, and her sister, Teddy (Maye) Wood.

Izetta Rose Cooley will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.
