Jace’s Funeral Service will be livestreamed and viewable below beginning at 11:00 AM Friday, November 22, 2024:

Jace Srur passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, surrounded by his loving family and friends, from injuries sustained in a hunting accident.

Jace’s loved ones have ensured his legacy will live on through organ donation, and through that generous decision, will touch countless others as the family members, friends and communities of those who receive his donated organs will be forever impacted by their improved quality of life – all made possible through these selfless gifts.

Jace was born on June 16, 1990, the son of Todd and Kathy (Dimke) Srur in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Fargo where he received his education, graduating from Fargo South High School in 2008. Jace attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND where he received his degree in plumbing. Jace worked at the family business – G & T Plumbing his entire career – following in his father’s footsteps. He was proud of his work and took great pride in customer service and in a job well done. Jace shared a special bond with his father and brother – sharing the same passions as his dad, and striving to be the best role model for his little brother, whom he adored.

Although Jace loved all sports, he was most proud of being a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan and loved the annual trips to Lambeau Field with his dad and brother. He also loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Sioux and could talk about any sport or game. He enjoyed his time outdoors, whether planting his garden (or talking someone else in to planting it for him), to fishing and hunting with friends and family. He was well known to his family for making the best (and biggest) breakfasts ever. No matter how full he was after a meal, Jace always said there was room for ice cream to fill in the cracks. Jace had a sweet tooth and could often be found with some sort of candy and a Mt. Dew. Jace was a selfless person who always thought of others first. He was often heard saying that he wanted to live life to the fullest – he was filled with love and positivity and that was evident to all that knew him. Jace was also proud of his sobriety, having celebrated 11 years on June 25th.

Jace is survived by his father, Todd (Karen) Srur of Fargo, ND; his brother, Jake (Stacia Croucher) of Moorhead, MN; his love, girlfriend, Kaylee Schell of Fargo; and his beloved canine companion, Bear. Also surviving are his step-sisters – Charity Mealman and Destiny Spike both of Buffalo, MN; his several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends that were like family to Jace.

Jace was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Srur; and his grandparents – Phil and Jeanne Srur and Kenny and Janice Dimke.

  7. Our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. We meet Jace and your family over one Christmas holiday and Jace was such a joy to be around and I myself am a Packer fan so we will always have that memory of Jace! Jace will be missed and may Jace’s loving memories remain in your heart forever R.I.P. Jace

  8. I only met Jace once but I have a nice story to tell- this past July, I moved into my new home and called about a problem with my bathroom drain. Jace promptly called me back and arrived shortly after. I showed him how the sink wasn’t draining and it took him about 2 seconds to see the problem! I had the sink stopper down so of course it wasn’t draining! I was so embarassed but Jace was so kind and understanding that it made me feel better. We chatted about his dog and he met my great dane. I could tell he was a dog lover because my dog instantly liked him and she is always wary of strangers. I will never forget that day and how patient and kind Jace was even though it was my fault and I felt incredibly embarassed. I am so verysorry for your loss.

  9. Dear family of Jace, I didn’t know your son but he sounded like an amazing man. Such a tragedy, but at least some good came out of it. I lost a son in 19 in a tragic accident also. He was older than yours but that doesn’t matter. I understand your pain of loss. Treasure the memories and years you had him. God Bless his memory.

  10. We are so devastated to hear we have lost our young friend. We are friends with Kaylee and the Schell family who we met him through. They would come to see us and especially our puppy frenchies every time they came to Minot . He had a special way with the dogs who always enjoyed him. Fly high our friend we will miss you . Connie and Harlan Rice.

  11. We knew Jace through G & T plumbing. After my son clogged a toilet at 5:00 pm on Friday, we called G&T for the first time ever and got ahold of Jace who came over right away (said he lived nearby) he fixed our toilet with a smile, and we never received a bill. We used G & T for every plumbing project moving forward, and preferably worked with Jace. He was the nicest young man and I am so sad to hear this news. Thoughts and prayers to his family, friends, and work family.

  12. Todd, Jake and family,
Words cannot express how we feel about learning about Jace’ passing.
Our deepest condolences to you all!
Please find comfort in knowing that Jace is now in the gentle arms of his Mom!
Thank you, and Jace, for the gift of organs to many ….
May God wrap his loving arms around all of you and bring you comfort!
    With love,
Terry, Roger, Trista, Michaela, Chesney, Chet and Devon

  16. Frank and I are holding you in our hearts and prayers. Words are inadequate at this time. So glad we got to meet Jace. What a fine, strong young man. Sending love to you, Karen, Todd and Jake.

  19. I currently live out of state but keep up to date with Fargo by the inforum I was saddened by the tragic loss of Jace. His life was an inspiration. My thoughts and prayers are with Todd and Jake.

  20. Jace was a great unselfish young man. I remember a time he was doing work over at my house on one of many projects. I was watching and talking nothing new for me to bend Jace”s ear. He would come up with technical plumbing words . I would come up with my own words. He’d look up over the top of his glasses and say, Maybe you should stick to selling chicken. The best was when he would say gosh you’re dumb.. then we would both laugh .. Todd, Jake, Karen, and Family, So incredibly sorry for the loss of Jace, he was one fine man .

  21. It was an absolute pleasure having Jace as part of our daily lives. He will always remain in our thoughts and prayers. Our sincerest condolences, City of Fargo plumbing inspectors.

  22. We were so saddened to hear of your loss, Srur family, but also touched with hope that he gave of himself so that others may live through organ donation. Jace is in our cell phone contacts, just as Jace, as we didn’t know his last name. Over the past 10 years or so, whenever our 4 mischievous boys would do something destructive to our plumbing system, we would call or text him for help. Jace would come to our door with a smile on his face, and ask, “What did your boys do now?” He is now with the angels, his mother, and all who have left this earth. Blessings, prayers, and arms of comfort these next few days, months and years ahead.

  23. We are so very sorry to hear about the loss of Jace. He was such a wonderful guy! He helped us so many times with our plumbing needs over the years! He was so professional and always did a great job. Before he left the job he would always visit with us and give our dogs some love as he went out the door. Jace was such a light in this world. He will be greatly missed.

  24. Todd, Karen, and family,
Can’t imagine the pain you must be feeling. I didn’t know Jace but have heard great things. Find comfort in his gift of life to so many people. God bless you and ease your pain. So sorry for your loss.
