Resided in: Fargo, North Dakota

Jacyline Joy “Jackie” Roth, age 66, of Fargo, ND, passed away June 20, 2023, at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, with Steve Vogel by her side.

Jacyline Joy Schultz was born July 13, 1956, in Gackle, ND, the daughter of Oswald and Rose (Laber) Schultz of Jamestown, ND. After graduating from Jamestown High School in 1974, she worked for 15 years at Cass County Social Services and later years at Cash Wise in Fargo. She was a personal shopper for the on-line department and enjoyed her work and co-workers so much she continued working even into retirement.

She enjoyed memories of growing up with her family playing music for fun at home playing organ or accordion, banjo, tambourines and spoons with all the girls singing old-time songs. She also enjoyed vocal music activities in school and was self-taught to play piano/organ and accordion.

She and Steve Vogel, her life partner, enjoyed motorcycle rides and attending car shows, as well as going to the lake. She also enjoyed her flowers and bird watching as she watched a Mourning Dove build a nest in trellis near front door and have babies. Steve and Jackie were longtime faithful members of St. Andrew Lutheran in West Fargo. One of Jackie’s proudest accomplishments was being a grandma – she was looking forward to spending time with her newest grandson, Maxon.+

She is survived by her life partner, Steve Vogel of Fargo, ND; two sons, Nick (Kelly) Richardson of Excelsior, MN; Niles (Sarah) Roth of Gardner ND; her sisters – Brenda (Harry) Peterson of Montgomery, MN; Debra (Mike) Arness of Ephrata, WA; and her four grandchildren – Nora, Anders, and Reagan Richardson; and Maxon Roth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oswald and Rose Schultz; and her sister, Peggy Schultz.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I am so sorry to learn of Jackie’s death. We were cousins. I was always fascinated by Aunt Rosie and Uncle Ozzie and their four girls. What a beautiful family!

  2. I had the pleasure of working with Jackie at Cashwise. I would always make her laugh when I would say “Jackie did I ever tell you your my hero, your the wind beneath my wings”, She always had a smile on her face and love in her heart. I will mis her deeply. Prayers to her family, you all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

  3. I had the greatest pleasure knowing and working with Miss Jackie and loved hearing about her life. She always made me laugh and put up with all of us sneaking up on her. She will be missed very much and I thank God she was shared to all of us. May god hold her close. Prayers and love to her family, she will be missed…

  4. I worked with Jackie at Cass County and then again at Cashwise. It was so nice to reconnect with her after all of these years. She was such a nice person and had such a sweet smile. I loved getting the opportunity to work with her again and catch up with her after not seeing her for so long since her retirement from Cass County. She will be missed.

  5. I met Jackie at Cass County Social Services when I started there in 1994. She was friendly and welcoming which was the catalyst for our friendship that spanned the next 29 years. Although we didn’t see each other more than a couple times a year, we always picked up as if we talked every day 🙂 I’ll miss you Jack and pray that you’re at home with your Lord. God’s love and comfort will surround Steve, your children and grandchildren, sisters, and all those that loved you for all their days here on earth until we all meet again.
