James Shear
March 20, 1962 ~ January 17, 2011
Jim passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, January 17, 2011 after a 5 year diagnosis with cancer.
Jim was born on March 20, 1962 in Fargo, ND, the son of Alfred and Darlene (Hink) Shear. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo South High School in 1980. Upon graduation he joined the family business with his father at S & W Electric, of which he is now the owner. In 2006 Jim became engaged to Mitzi McDonald.
Jim will be remembered for his love of golfing with friends at Maple River Golf Club, fishing, hunting and his sense of humor. He cherished his time spent with family and friends, and quiet moments with his fiancée Mitzi.
Jim is survived by his fiancée, Mitzi McDonald and her daughter, Rheanon, who affectionately called him "Big J"; his daughter, Taylor Blakeway of Corvalis, OR; his mother, Darlene Shear of Fargo; his sisters, Phyllis (Jon) Hanson of Bismarck, ND; Diane (Ken) Rheault of Fargo; Kathy (Tim) Bishoff of West Fargo, ND; Janet (Dick) Fedje of Hoople, ND; and Jody (Craig) Talley of Sabin, MN; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, " Sir Ike". He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred.
In lieu of flowers, any donations given in Jim's name will be presented by the family to the Mayo Clinic for further research and hope for a cure for Multiple Myeloma.
To a wonderful family, that I have know all of my life, the loss of Jimmy was sad, but I count it a blessing to have know him at all. The memories of our families doing things together will never be forgotten.
