Janice Falk

janice falk

Janice Sharon Falk, 71, Park Rapids, MN passed away August 25, 2011 surrounded by loving family under palliative care by Hospice of the Red River Valley.  A special thanks is deserving to this organization and nurses who cared for Janice.

Janice was born November 16th, 1939 in Fargo, North Dakota to Oliver and Ann (Cordie) Cornelius and had four siblings.  Janice grew up in Fargo and attended the Fargo school system graduating from Fargo Central High in 1957.  She resided in Minneapolis, MN from 1959-1964, working in several secretarial positions during these years.  On November 27th, 1964 she married Ronald L. Falk and moved back to Fargo raising two sons.  In Fargo she worked both full and part time for Charles Bailly & Co. as a secretary.  Janice and her family moved to Park Rapids, MN in 1980 and she became a full time homemaker and also performed accounting work for the family business.  Janice loved her family more than anything and was extremely giving, putting others before herself regularly.  She was a fantastic cook/baker and by many accounts made the best chocolate chip cookies ever.  She also was an avid shopper and had a keen sense of fashion, especially for shoes, jeans, and bags.   Janice loved to travel and her trip to Europe in 2005 with her grandchildren and son was one she cherished.  Holidays, especially Christmas, were very special to her.  Later in her years she spent significant time at her sons' lake homes on Upper Gull Lake in Minnesota and enjoyed her time with family immensely.  A family gathering as well as a wine and cheese party will be held in her honor on Upper Gull Lake, summer 2012.

Janice is survived by her husband, Ronald, Park Rapids, MN; sons Tyler, Fargo, ND and Terry (Mary), Des Moines, IA; sisters Carol (Jerry) Chaimberlain, Donna (Lee) Kornelius, and Connie Zettel; brother Oliver Jr. (Sue); nieces Ann, Shelley, Beth, and Stacey; nephew Steve, all of who have meant much to her over the years; by her own words "five most awesome, wonderful grandchildren" Taylor, Kelly, Tycho, Teryn, and Tate; by many other close relatives and friends. Janice was preceded in death by her father Oliver, mother Ann, and nephew Lannie.

Guestbook

  1. Moorhead MnJanice was such a nice person. Her beauty was on both the inside and outside. She always struck me as someone with a tender heart and her smile was contagious. We had more telephone chats than meeting in person, yet I always thought of her being so genuine and kind. My condolences to Ron, the boys and all those whose lives she touched. My deepest sympathies…..

    Sincerely,

    Neal Haaland
