Janis LeClaire

Janis LeClaire, 67, of Fargo, North Dakota, went home to Jesus on October 14th. Janis was born on April 19, 1956 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. At age 2, her mother and brother moved back to North Dakota after her father’s death. Janis was raised on the family farm near Powers Lake. From a young age Janis loved to sing. While in high school she participated in band, choir, and girls’ basketball. She graduated from Powers Lake High School in 1974. Some of her classmates remained life-long friends. Janis attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle, Washington and was given many opportunities to share her gift of singing. Janis had a love for opera and symphonies, which she attended with her friends. In her later years she became a member of West Prairie Free Lutheran church where she had many friends. Janis had a strong faith in Jesus who sustained her through a lifetime of trials. She referred to the Holy Spirit as her constant companion from the time she was young.

A memorial service will be held at West Prairie Free Lutheran Church, Kindred, ND on October 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation at 10:00.
