Jeanne Cossette, age 74, of Plymouth, MN, formerly of Fargo, ND died on October 29, 2014 at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN.

Jeanne was born on January 12, 1940, the daughter of Al and Mildred (Danielson) Cossette in Fargo. She grew up in the Fargo – Moorhead area and attended Shanley High School. Jeanne lived in the Twin Cities for many years. She was always a hard working lady holding various job positions, sometimes two at a time, including managing a Japanese restaurant. Later in life she went back to school and became a licensed hair dresser. Jeanne moved back to the Fargo area in 1999. She had recently made her home in Plymouth MN since May of this year.

Throughout her life, Jeanne loved spending time gardening, fishing with Tom, crocheting and occasional trips to the casino with family and friends.

Jeanne is survived by children – Debra (Dave) Irvin of Bloomington, MN; Suzy (Clay) Dietrich of Moorhead, MN; and Timothy (Roberta) Cossette of Watertown, SD; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her daughter, Diane “Dede” Anderson; her sister, Diane Tessier; and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley who has taken great care of so many of our friends and family or to Park Nicollet Methodist Hospice in St. Louis Park, MN (6500 Excelsior Blvd 55426) who gave such great compassionate care to Jeanne.

Guestbook

  1. San Diego CAMy Thoughts and Prayers go out to Jeannie and her family. Jeanne has been a longtime friend to my family.
I have so many fond memories of Jeanne. I will miss our phone conversations and will also miss hearing her voice and hearing her saying: –
    “Hi.. Honey” “How are you”
Thank you Jeanne for being a part of my life. You knitted my dad a blanket while he was ill and you made sure that I took it home with me, which you know I did and I will cherish that gift always. You are already missed by me and others. Enjoy being reunited with my parents and now with my brother Woody.
    Rest in Peace my friend!
    Much love always,
    Mike

  3. Maple Grove Minnesota
Jeanne has been a very dear friend since we met almost 20 years ago. Loved her laugh and her sense of humor.

The day she went into the hospital from her apartment, she told me she had seen her mother twice that day in her home.

After she was diagnosed, she told me, “it’s not such a bad way to go, Karen. It gives me time to say goodbye.” And also, she said, “They say you either have to suffer here or ‘over there’, and I would rather do it here so I can go straight to heaven.”

She will be missed very much.

  4. Moorhead Minnesota
Very sorry to hear about Jeanne. Things happened so quickly, I glad she had time with her family.
She was always a picture of health. I remember that smile and see it reflected in the smiles of her children.
Do you think she is playing wisk with Tommy, Mike and my parents? That’s the last time I remember seeing them together.

  5. Lake Norden SDI only had the pleasure of visiting with Jeanne twice. What a dynamic lady, she really did light up a room. My friend and co-worker Tim gets a gleem in his eye whenever he speaks of his mother. She will surely be missed, but her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren. Prayers to you and your family Tim.

  7. Audubon MN
Debbie, Suzy & Timmy: You were the apple of your Mother’s eye, along with DeDe. She loved you so much. She had a very hard life when she was growing up as a young adult. We had our very good times together and just recently hooked up again before she left and went back to Minneapolis. She was always in my thoughts and I will miss her again. My sympathies to all of you. Jan
