Jeffrey J. Peterson
May 24, 1967 ~ May 31, 2026
Jeffrey Jay Peterson, 59, of West Fargo, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, in the arms of his wife, Lori, at HIA Heather’s House.
Jeff was born on May 24, 1967. He grew up in Fargo, North Dakota, and attended Fargo South High School. He carried one of the hardest work ethics and was dedicated to everything that he did. Throughout his life, he worked at CableOne, Truck Accessory Shop, Master Construction, and Reile’s Trucking.
Some of Jeff’s happiest moments were spent at Trowbridge Lake, where he grew up causing trouble with his brothers. His love for the lake never faded. Over the years, he looked forward to spending time on the pontoon, going fishing, riding the Ranger, and enjoying the peace that came with being at the lake. He especially treasured weekends there with Lori, creating a place they could truly call their own. Jeff loved bringing people together and was happiest when family and friends gathered around. Whether he was hosting one of his famous pig roasts or a crawfish boil, he enjoyed sharing good food, laughter, and time with the people he cared about most.
Jeff was one of the strongest people anyone could know, in more ways than one. For the last eight years, he fought Stage IV colorectal cancer that had metastasized to his liver and lungs. When he was first diagnosed, he never expected to have another year, let alone eight. Yet through every challenge, Jeff faced life with remarkable strength, resilience, and determination. He rarely let cancer define him, and many people would never have known the battles he was facing. Even during the hardest times, he had a way of finding the positive and helping others do the same. While cancer was a significant part of the last chapter of his life, it was never what defined him. Jeff will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, his resilience, and the way he continued to live life on his own terms.
Above all else, Jeff cherished his family and friends. He survived by the love of his life, Lori; his daughter Danielle (Joe) Beske, and grandson Lincoln; his stepdaughters Shaylie Skjervem, Caitlin (Brook) Lennon and grandson expected in October 2026. And of course, his beloved cat/best buddy Finn.
He will also be remembered by his mother Janice; his father, Robert; his brothers Victor (Kiff), Roy (Stacy), and many nieces.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday June 10, 2026 from 4pm-7pm at:
The Rose Creek Golf Course
1500 East Rose Creek Pkwy S, Fargo, ND 58104
