Resided in: Bemidji, Minnesota

Joann Louise Bellino, age 71, of Bemidji, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Joann was born on March 16,1952, in Bemidji, MN, the daughter of Eugene and Muriel (Moffet) Bellino. She was the second oldest of 10 children. Joann grew up in Bemidji, graduating from Bemidji High School in 1970. After high school, she moved to Minneapolis, where she worked at the University of Minnesota Hospital. In 1975, Joann met Brian Quamme, and they were married in 1976. In 1978, her and Brian moved to Wahpeton, ND. Their first child, Adam, was born in 1982; and their second child, Breanna, was born in 1984. All four lived in Wahpeton until Joann, Adam, and Breanna moved back to Bemidji in 1990.

Joann attended Bemidji State University and graduated in 1995. She then took a job at Beltrami County, where she stayed working until she retired in 2017. In 1992, she proudly purchased a house in Bemidji where she resided until 2022. Throughout her life, she enjoyed playing tennis, fishing, water skiing, downhill skiing, and traveling. Some of Joann’s favorite destinations to visit were Hawaii, Mexico, and the North Shore. She would always share the story about the trip she won from the radio station to Sweden to see the Eagles perform. She enjoyed the simple things in life, including; driving around to look at the fall colors or Christmas lights, a glass of cold milk and a banana, watching a soap opera while completing a crossword puzzle, walking the beach in search of seashells, cheering on her favorite athlete while attending a sporting event, telling a joke and then laughing at herself, listening to Tom Petty, shopping for a good deal, and just being included in any variety of functions. Of all things, she loved her children and grandchildren the most. She was so proud of them and showed them off whenever she had the opportunity. She spoiled them every chance she could. Joann will be forever missed. Until we meet again.

Joann is survived by her two children, Adam (Erica) Quamme of Clearwater, MN; and Breanna (Travis) Quamme of West Fargo, ND; her grandchildren – Aleck, Asher, Aidan, Harper, Peyton, Braxton, Easton, Treyton; eight brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Muriel Bellino; her brother, Phillip Bellino; her nephew, Ryan Bellino; and her grandson, Benton Quamme – Kortan.
