Joann L. Entzminger

joann entzminger

Joann Lynn Entzminger (Schlichting) was born June 24th 1961 in Moorehead, MN at St Ansgar to the late Marlys (Johnson) and William “Bill” Schlichting. Joann was baptized at First Assembly church of Fargo and was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran church of Fargo. Joann attended kindred high school.

Joann was married to Clarence “Cal” Lee Entzminger of Fargo ND on August 5, 1983 at the Justice of the Peace in Fargo. Together they raised 2 sons and a daughter; Michael, Ryan and Christa.

Joann loved spending her time volunteering for special Olympics, where she had the privilege of helping with volleyball, bowling and soccer. She especially loved being able to watch her children participate in school events. Joann volunteered time to help out at church events and to help out with church plays. Joann also took the joyous time to make the outfits for the numerous pageants that her daughter Christa participated in. In her free time, Joann enjoyed scrapbooking for family and friends. This led her to develop a great interest in the genealogy of her family, and also her interest and love to look at and share photos of family and friends. Joann loved listening to and also telling many stories of family and friends that she got to meet. One of the many things Joann loved to do was to tell jokes and play little fun practical jokes on people to bring laughter and joy to so many people. That she most certainly inherited through her mom Marlys. Another activity that Joann had the honor of doing was being a Grandma “Mimi” to her grandson, Grayson. She got to watch him during the week, and take so many pictures and videos of him. He loved snuggling with his Mimi.

Joann is survived by her husband, Clarence Entzminger of 39 years in Fargo, ND; their three children and spouses, Michael (Jen) Entzminger of Moorehead, MN, Ryan Entzminger of Fargo, ND and Christa (Mike) Hanson of Fargo ND; three grandchildren, AnnaMarie Hanson, Zachary Hanson, Grayson Hanson; four brothers, Douglas Schlichting of Watford City, ND, Vernon Schlichting of Canton, OH, James (Vadra) Schlichting of Fargo, ND, and William “Will” Schlichting of West Fargo, ND, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Joann is preceded in death by her mom, Marlys Schlichting (Johnson).

  9. Joann was always friendly and smiling. She welcomed us when we moved to West Fargo & brought her kids over for our Hallelujah party on Oct 31, 1986. She & Cal helped us move furniture a year later when we moved to Fargo. She took time to stop & visit, whether at church or the credit union or Hulda’s birthday party. Joann saved us seats at the CU annual meeting, & it was always fun to sit together. Dennis and I extend our sympathy in the grief you feel. But she loved Jesus! I believe we will see her again. Praying for you family.
