JoAnne Madsen

JoAnne E. Madsen, 77 of Fargo, died Thursday, April 17, 2008 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. JoAnne Elaine Madsen was born on September 29, 1930 to Sophus and Martha (Stenberg) Trom in Kindred, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Casselton, North Dakota. She was certified as an X-ray Technican in Minneapolis, Minnesota. JoAnne married E. James Madsen on February 3, 1950 in Casselton. During that time she was employed with Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo. They moved to Bismarck in 1975 where she worked for Missouri Slope Nursing Home for several years. JoAnne moved to Fargo in 1993 after the death of her husband, Jim. JoAnne enjoyed reading, playing pinochle, crocheting and watching her favorite TV programs and favorite teams, the Twins and Vikings. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, friends and family. She will be missed dearly. JoAnne is survived by her children, Daniel (Lynn) Madsen of Casselton, ND, David Madsen of Fargo, Joleen (Mark) Lewis of Fargo, Douglas (Judie) Madsen of Harwood, ND, Janis (Richard) Kasper of Fargo, Jodi (Bill) Hovell of Fargo; grandchildren, Stacy Madsen, Derek (Renae) Madsen, Kara (Gabe Kost) Madsen, Reid Madsen, Erin and Brady Lewis, Nicholas and Christopher Kasper, Christine and Adam Hovell; brother, Paul (Sue) Trom of Hackensack, MN and sister, Sonja (Robert) Horner of Dent, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; brother, Omer; infant daughter, Christine and infant granddaughter, Kristin. Visitation: Monday, April 21 from 5-7 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Prayer Service: Monday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial Service: Tuesday, April 22 at 1:00 pm at Hope Lutheran Church, North Campus, Fargo. Interment: Casselton Cemetery, Casselton, ND. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
