Joe Brown

Joe E. Brown Jr., 57, passed away July 8, 2023 at his home in Kindred surrounded by family.

Joe was born February 13, 1966 to Mary (Bitz) and Joe Brown Sr. in Aberdeen, SD. He lost his father at a young age and his mother remarried to Delbert Albertson December 13, 1977. Joe was raised in Cogswell, ND from the age of 10. Joe met his wife Evelyn and married June 3, 1989. Joe and Evelyn had their daughter, Nikki on July 11, 1990 and their son, Josh on June 2, 1993. He worked for his dad, Delbert for many years. Joe also worked for Ray-Mac of Gwinner, ND. He then moved to the Kindred area and went to work for Case New Holland where he worked for 15 years.

Joe loved spending time with working on derby cars with his sons, traveling to derbies, wood working crafts with his daughter, craft fairs, and playing with his grandchildren.
Early 2021, he was diagnosed with cancer. Joe continued strongly with his daily activities while going to his own appointments as well as assisting his father to his cancer appointments. The last month was a struggle for Joe but he fought hard till the end with a lot of help from his daughter and wife.

Joe is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, Nikki (Matt) Ernst, Joshua (Alli) Brown, Christopher (Samantha) Harrison; sisters, Jacque (Henry) Anderson, Melissa (Arnie) Harrison; grandchildren, Kenzie, Bentley, Raegan, Axyl, Brantley, Temperance, Oakley, Kendall, Chevelle and one on the way; mother-in-law, Carol Harrison; and many well loved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded and death by his parents, Joe Brown Sr and Mary and Delbert Albertson; father in law, Andrew Harrison; and both sets of grandparents.

A visitation will take place from 5:00-7:00 PM followed by a prayer service at 7:00 PM Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred. Visitation will continue from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cogswell, ND. Burial will take place at Old Sargent Cemetery near his family.
