Johanna Davidson

Johanna passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Villa Maria in Fargo at the age of 95.

Johanna Madeline Unterseher was born November 22, 1914 in Kildeer, North Dakota, the daughter of Albert and Katherine Unterseher. Johanna grew up and attended school in Kildeer. At the age of 22, Johanna began her working life as a housekeeper. She also spent many years taking care of children and also in nursing homes and hospitals, taking care of the elderly.

In December 1949 Johanna moved to Fargo and was a foster mother for many teenagers. She worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in the Occupational Therapy department until her retirement in 1980.
Johanna continued to stay active volunteering at Rosewood on Broadway, the Americana Nursing Home, and most recently at Villa Maria.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fargo, and of PLS, a single’s club.

She is survived by children: Norman Davidson of San Jose, CA, Iver (Terri) Davidson; and Eydi Ortner of Edgewood, WA; one granddaughter, 2 sisters: Freida Lundquist of Fargo, and Betty Dukart of Kildeer, ND; and three brothers: Otto (Vi) Unterseher of Fargo; Art Unterseher of Leeds, SD; and Christ Unterseher of Fargo.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 PM Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo.
