John "Jack" Thomas Baumgardner

John “Jack” T. Baumgardner, 80, Fargo passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Jack was born January 31, 1943 in Barnesville, MN to John and Alice (Fitzgerald) Baumgardner. He attended school at St. Mary’s before going to work for Shaw Excavating and Transport Asphalt before joining Meinecke-Johnson Construction as a Superintendent for 43 years, retiring in 2008.
He married Charlotte Holm on April 19, 1963. They made their home in Fargo where they raised their 3 children.

Jack really enjoyed golfing and getting to watch all of his grandchildren at their sporting events. He loved playing pinochle and watching football, NASCAR and golf. Family was very important to him and he loved getting to spend time with all of his extended family whenever he could.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Charlotte, Fargo, ND; children, Denise Erickson, West Fargo, ND, Teresa (Al) Schafer, West Fargo, ND, Kim Evenson, West Fargo, ND, Tami (Tim) Hertel, Fargo, ND; 7 grandchildren, David (Nicole) Baumgardner, Brandon (Lindsey) Erickson, Scott (fiancé Bridget Odden) Evenson, Zach (Mariah Conner) Schafer, Hope (Ben) Noah, Nicole Evenson, Austin Schafer; 3 great-grandchildren, Brianna Baumgardner, Katelyn Baumgardner, James Baumgardner; siblings, Kathleen Sauvageau, Darlene (Howard) Bradsteen, Betty Holland, Frank (Phyllis) Baumgardner, Pat (Marcia) Baumgardner, Mike (Sharon) Baumgardner, Russell (Sylvia) Baumgardner, Jim Baumgardner, Mark (Bonnie) Baumgardner; brother-in-law, Don Henning and many nieces nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Scott, sisters, Faith Lewis, Karen Henning, son-in-law, Monte Evenson, sister-in-law, Rocky and brothers-in-law, Roger Sauvageau and Jack Lewis.
