John H. Lunday Jr.
John Herald Lunday Jr. was born December 1, 1931, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to John and Belva Lunday. He graduated from Fargo Central High School and Dakota Business College. On March 16, 1951, he married Beverly Joycelyn Ziner. They lived in Fargo.
John worked and ran the family business Sioux Oil and Fuel Company and Conoco Stations. After the stations were closed the family business changed its name to Sioux Oil & Supply and later became Sioux Wholesale, Inc. until the business closed in 2015.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and skiing.
John passed away Wednesday, December 9th at home.
John is survived by his children, Paulette Butenhoff, Hawley, MN; Vicki (Rod) Stainbrook, Butte, MT; John Lunday III, Fargo, ND; Sharon (Alan) Watson, Buxton, ND; Todd Lunday, Fargo, ND; Lisa (Gary) Noyes, Dilworth, MN; sister, Mary Ann Gans, Palm City, FL; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Belva Lunday.

Thinking of the family with a heavy heart. A loving legacy is left in those that are left behind.
My condolences to you all from your grandfather Lunday’s “baby” cousin–the last one left. My husband and I enjoyed a brief visit with him at the airport in Fargo 20 years ago.
I’ll always miss you in my heart dear brother.
So sorry to hear of John’s passing. My dad, Jim, always talked highly of him and he was friendly the few times we had the opportunity to talk with him.
