John C. Resell, Jr., 73, Fargo, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Sanford Health, Fargo surrounded by his family.

John was born April 11, 1940 to John and Elizabeth Resell in Williston, North Dakota.  He grew up in this area graduating from Williston High School in 1958.  John attended UND and graduated with a Bachelor of Philosophy degree on January 26, 1963.  While attending UND he was in the ROTC and upon graduation was commissioned into the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant.  John married Georgia K. Blomquist on January 27, 1963 in Grand Forks at First Presbyterian Church.  He was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas.  After he was discharged from the Army he returned to North Dakota where he worked as an insurance adjuster for 30 years.  He was very meticulous and conscientious doing his job very well.  He retired in 2002.  On January 27, 2013 with family John and Georgia celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary 

John was a Mason and also a member of First Presbyterian in Fargo.  He had a very strong faith in the Lord.  When he wasn’t tinkering in the kitchen, he loved to read, and had a particular interest in history. 

John is survived by his wife, Georgia; children, Lisa Saylor and her children, Hannah, Abigail, and Jacob, Atlanta, GA; Steven and his children, Aimee and Christian, Fargo, ND; Susan (Dan) Powell and their children, Taylor, Adam and Ellie, Bowman, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant daughter, Jennifer.

    John was a fun guy to kid around with and he always seemed to have a big smile on his face. My condolances to his family.
