Joseph "Joe" Tollefson, 37, Blanchard, ND, was called to be with his Savior on Thursday, January 16, 2020, in his home. Joe was born on October 23, 1982 at St. Ansgar Catholic Hospital and baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Park River, ND. He is the son of Bonnie Ackerman and Vernon Tollefson. Joe attended school in Park River where he was a member of the Aggies basketball and football team, as well as the bowling league. He started his career as a teen working for his parents' local pizza shop in Park River, ND. As an adult his career began at Marvin Windows in Grafton, ND. He then went on to work at Tarnell Industries in Walhalla, ND and finished with Mechanical Contractors in Hillsboro, ND. Joe had a larger than life personality met with a heart of gold and the will to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a passion for the outdoors, motorsports, animals and electronics. He especially enjoyed spending his time with his family and close friends. Joe is survived by his children: Jeena Marie, Kanyon Joseph, Valor Dean and Torryn AnnMarie, parents: Bonnie Ackerman and Vernon Tollefson, brother: Jeff Tollefson, sister: Lisa Raymond, the love of his life and best friend: Shelby Sargent, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandparents: Olaf and Grace Tollefson, Joseph and Clementine Lunski, niece: Arianna Tollefson, as well as stepfather: Earl Ackerman. There will be a funeral Mass at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Hillsboro, ND with a visitation one hour prior.
