Joseph’s service will be livestreamed below at 10 AM, Saturday, September 2nd

Joseph Wani Lisok was born on January 1, 1982 in Lori, Kajo Keji, South Sudan. Sadly, on August 27, he departed this life. He passed on at the age of 41 in his apartment in Fargo, North Dakota. The cause of his death is yet to be determined.

Joseph joined his brother, Paul Agamiri, and his sister-in-law, Betty Agamiri in Fargo, North Dakota in 1998 through the refugee resettlement program. Like many South Sudanese resettled in the United States of America, he had to leave Sudan to escape persecution. He attended Fargo South High School and graduated in 2002. Marvin Windows hired him later as a production employee. His last employer was Don’s Car Wash in Fargo, North Dakota.

Joseph is survived by his 12-year-old daughter, Michelle Kaku, two brothers, Pastor Paul Agamiri and Kenyi Logitoyo, and three sisters Jane Woro, Juan Beden, and Naomi Beden. He has been blessed also with many cousins, nieces, as well as many friends. After Joseph’s parents (Matthews and Loice Kaku Dunkwat) had passed on, Kashmiro Lisok, together with Yuniya Yobu as well as several relatives, seated among us today, assumed guardianship and stepped in to raise him.

All who have interacted with Joe, as his friends call him, will miss and fondly remember him. He has touched many lives in numerous positive and memorable ways. Many remember him as someone who was loving. Positive words they have used to describe Joseph include compassionate, generous, empathetic, friendly, kind, good hearted, peaceful, forgiving, polite, law abiding, and funny. Joseph’s character depicted by these powerful words has kept him out of trouble with the law.

He worshipped God at a Spanish Church. Pastor Jonathan Gomez together with Pastor Thomas Reagan were his spiritual guardians until the day he returned to be with the Lord. May his soul rest in peace!

  1. May you rest peacefully in heaven… Was always fun to visit with… You will be dearly missed and always remembered… Fly high with the Angels my friend … ❤️❤️🕯️🇸🇸💐

  2. Hello to Joseph’s family and friends. I was out of state when I heard of Joseph’s passing away. I would have certainly been at his funeral had I not been so far away. I have known Joseph for about 4 years and am very thankful to have known him. He had faith in Jesus and also know that he struggled. Why some people struggle more than others I don’t know. He wasn’t perfect but he knew a perfect God. I pray that those who did know him but don’t know Jesus as their Savior and Lord would place their trust in Jesus. God bless you as you miss Joseph.
