Joyce Iverson
December 4, 1924 ~ July 10, 2011
Joyce passed away on July 10, 2011 at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo at the age of 85.
Joyce Owen was born on December 4, 1925, the daughter of Joseph and Helga (Oye) Owen in Kindred, North Dakota. She grew up in this area, received her education, graduating from Kindred High School in 1943. Joyce then attended Business College in Fargo. Joyce was united in marriage to Ole Iverson on October 12, 1947 at Norman Lutheran Church near Kindred. They made their home on the family farm near Kindred where they farmed for many years. Following retirement, Joyce and Ole moved to West Fargo in 1995 and she entered Bethany in 2008.
Throughout her life Joyce was very active at her church. She loved sewing and was a longtime member of the local "Sewing Club". Ole and Joyce enjoyed many weekends at the lake and times traveling. She leaves behind many years worth of pictures all arranged in her photo albums.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Ole; her daughters, Jennifer Thomas of Red Bank, NJ; Jackie (Harlan) Jordheim of Kindred; and her son, Neil Iverson of Tipp City, OH; her grandchildren - Joseph Thomas, Lee (Reile) Jordheim, Nick (Lisa) Jordheim, Jennifer (Kris) Nelson, Heather (Ben) Wead, Rachel Iverson, and William Iverson; and her great grandchildren - Jansen, Jenner and Jaeger Jordheim; and Savannah and Grace Wead. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son-in-law, Bill Shields.
AZ Dear Ole and Family,
I am saddened to hear of Joyce’s passing. I have such fond memories of visiting with her at Alsager Family Reunions and more recently at Carly’s wedding. May all your wonderful memories help each of you during this difficult time.
Love and Peace,
Sharron
Broadus MTLike Bonnie, I remember the ball games. Also, church functions, being neighbors, etc. Most of all, I remember Joyce and Ole being such good sports letting us raise the roof in their basement with our band’s racket! Probabllly the only “Vibrations” were the floor joists and kitchen utensils rattling when we played our hot music! I believe Joyce’s legacy exemplifies the words found in Prov. 31:10-31. may God’s Grace envelop you all at this time. Steve
Port Orange FLDear Ole, Jennifer, Jackie, Neil and families… So sorry to hear of the loss of Joyce. I can still see you (Ole) and Joyce sitting in the bleachers- faithfully watching any ball game there was in Kindred. I always thought that was very special that you supported your children in whatever they did and all the sports that Kindred had. My thoughts and prayers are with you as we remember Joyce.
With Love, Bonnie

To Ole and family
My sincere sympathy to you in the passing of your wife of many years. You made such a nice couple. Memories of school days at Barrie come to mind as we spent a couple of nights with your folks during the ND
blizzards when our parents couldn’t come to get us. I also enjoyed your visits at sister Eileen’s apt. in West Fargo. I know DuWayne enjoyed that too. May Joyce rest in peace. She was a good woman and you have many happy memories of her throughout your life time together.
Blessings to you and your family.
