Joyce Winroth

Joyce Winroth, 93, Fargo, ND passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo. She was born on a farm near Halstad, MN to Edwin and Clara (Lee) Hawkins. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Halstad High School in 1946. She moved to Chicago where she met her husband, Sid Winroth. They were married in 1947 and purchased her parents’ farmstead in 1952. They farmed until 1973 when they moved to Moorhead. Joyce worked with her husband in Halstad at Winroth Insurance Agency and then was employed as a CNA at Meritcare from 1980 until retiring 1990. She was a member of Triumph and Hope Lutheran. She is survived by her children, Rodney, Cindy, and Randy Winroth; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother in law, Roger Peterson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Sid; daughter, Tammy Winroth Peterson; siblings, Martin Hawkins, Clara Hawkins, Sylvia Renfrew, and Edna Nelson.
